This Ability

This Ability is the result of a year-long series of filmmaking workshops for developmentally disabled members of the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion in B.C. Included in this 30-minute documentary are studio interviews with the participants, various stakeholders and the six short films written, directed, shot and edited by the program participants.--more--> The aim was to move away from videos that merely observe people with disabilities, towards ones that give an inside perspective on the human experience of disability. Through regular workshops and hands-on training, the filmmakers in the This Ability Media Club developed the skills to tell their own stories in their own way.
