The Mole
A private eye is obsessed with a case of mistaken identity after his lover is kidnapped. The bad guys hire an assassin to get rid of him. But who is the man lurking in the shadows, watching his every move?
Horror visions about the mole-covered face of a private detective, along with plenty of action and chase scenes, make this parody of a Humphrey Bogart style film most enjoyable. The private eye – whose face is marked by only one, yet quite distinctive mole – is also the narrator of the film, very much in the tradition of a Philip Marlowe. Occasional black and white title cards enhance the homage by director Salil Hernandez to early Hollywood films of the same genre.
