Věra Chytilová has gained international renown as one of the greatest Czech film directors. She's a pioneer, a feminist and a fighter against censorship.

Her anarchic, darkly comic films such as DAISIES captured the spirit of the revolutionary 60s, but also put her on the blacklist for over a decade. By the early 80s, though, Chytilová was able to work again and contributed such key works as PANEL STORY, the science fiction film WOLF'S HOLE, and the first Eastern European film to deal with AIDS, A HOOF HERE, A HOOF THERE. Despite the international recognition, this now 80-year old woman downplays her life's achievements.
