Hans in Luck

Whether in East or West Hans Narva always seems to travel the wrong side of the road. Imprisoned for incitement to mutiny at the tender age of fourteen, Hans at forty, already twice granted probation for drunk driving, once again faces the prospect of imprisonment.

To explore the roots of his anti-authoritarianism, Hans embarks on a journey into a past shaped by the fall of the Iron Curtain, the Berlin music scene and a complex and tangled family background. A portrait of a Berlin bassist, his music and his ironic denial of all the rules – regardless of the authority behind them.
