She traveled Berlin from north to south and east to west, and photographed the wall and its surrounds from the same geographic standpoints in both West Germany and East Germany. The work compares and contrasts life on the eastern and western sides of the wall. The pictures from the west side were made with a Super 8 movie camera. In contrast, the images from the east side are all still photographs - it was too risky in the 1980's to openly use a movie camera in East Berlin. The visual presentation of the wall and its border areas is accompanied by a radio play of the same name by Jan Rys.
