Paper Tiger Television's (PTTV) is collective of committed media-makers and an early innovator in video art and television of the early 1980’s. PPTV was the first nationally broadcast public access television in America. Their unique, handmade, irreverent aesthetic experiments with the medium of broadcast television. By combining art, academics, politics, performance and live television, PPTV exposes the hidden agenda of the mainstream media and questions the powerful grip of corporate influence on media content. Twenty-five years ago this New York City video collective - with its anarchic, improvisational commentary and satire on modern media culture - paved the way for alternative media. Thanks to the explosion of Internet distribution, 'Do It Yourself ' media has grown from the isolated efforts of individuals to become the powerfully influential international phenomenon that it is today. realeyz.tv proudly presents the historic and highly relevent media work by Paper Tiger Televison.
