After being locked up inside himself for 26 years and not speaking a single word, Roman, a young man with autism, learns to relate to the world through the patient efforts of woodsman and caretaker Xaver. In a relationship that constantly balances closeness and distance, Xavier teaches Roman to cut wood. They form a fragile channel of communication that is threatened by desperate emotional outbursts and anxiety attacks. The temptation for Roman to return to his world of isolation is great.

Director Rámon Giger not only succeeds in drawing a striking portrait, but also achieves a contemplative reflection on the nature of human relationships as a whole.
