The Directors Guild of America honors Louie Psihoyos and his film “THE COVE”

Photographer Louie Psihoyos has received the Directors Guild of America award for OUTSTANDING DIRECTORIAL ACHIEVEMENT IN DOCUMENTARY for his filmThe Cove, a thrilling and moving portrait of the savage hunt for dolphins. The Cove documents the brutal reality of dolphin killing in Taiji, Wakayama (Japan) where thousands of dolphins are slaughtered every year. The spectacular footage was covertly shot under dangerous circustances because the director had been refused permission to film by the Japanese government.

The Oceanic Preservation Society (OPS) ,of which Louie Psihoyo is a founding member, is one of the producers of this award winning film.
