previously unreleased, exclusive video interviews with
director and Club Transmediale 2010 participant Niamh
Guckian Ahern as well as Andreas Schneider, the founder of
Schneiders Büro.

TOTALLY
WIRED – A FILM ABOUT SCHNEIDERS BÜRO
uses a Berlin shop that specializes in analog electronic
instruments as a springboard to create a portrait of the
international electronica scene and the relationship
between the people who create the sounds and their
machines. Musicians and instrument designers such as
Ricardo Villalobos, Antony Rother, Daniel Miller, Magda,
Jessica Rylan, Ken Macbeth and Dieter Döpfer (among
many others) talk about their musical visions and machines
even give demonstrations on keyboards, sine-wave
generators, rhythm machines and sequencers and other
analogue electronic instruments.
TOTALLY
WIRED
premiered at the international music and media festival
Club Transmediale in February of 2009. Since then,
Schneiders Büro has moved location from the
increasingly commercial Alexanderplatz in Berlin's Mitte
district to 'Kreuzberg 36', a district in the former
West Berlin city. Kreuzberg has traditionally been
seen as both a 'trouble hotspot' as well as a creative,
'hip', and multicultural district that carries forth
subversive traditions of the 1980's.
Niamh Guckian
Ahern and Andreas Schneider talk about the influences and
impulses coming from these new surroundings and they
discuss alternative distribution channels for documentary
film, musical instruments in the digital age, and how the
remarkable TOTALLY
WIRED
film project got made. These interviews are both
companion pieces and updates to the film. At realeyz.tv,
films are also an integral part of the ongoing and emerging
exchange between makers and users.
