Joan Braderman, whose 80s stand-up media critique classic JOAN DOES DYNASTY is on realeyz.tv, has just released her latest film Heretics. It’s a stylish and insightful documentary about legendary collective second wave feminist journal Heresies.
The Wuppertal Media Project distributes films made by young people who receive instruction and supervision by media experts. The existence of this internationally recognized model project, which allows youth to tell stories about the world they live in and promotes media competence, alternative content, and social dialog, is threatened. The Society for Threatened Peoples International (GfbV) is a human rights organization who for the past 40 years, has fought for the rights of threatened peoples, persecuted minorities, and indigenous communities world wide. The GfbV are advisors to the UN, and a participating organization at The Council of Europe. Their work with these institutions, as well as their media campaigns and public relations work, fights persecution, discrimination, and threats on behalf of those who otherwise may go unheard. The Mapuche, the “heroes” of the film “Switch Off!”, have long suffered oppression and displacement. The industrial exploitation of Mapuche territories has been catastrophic for their communities. This documentary bears vivid witness their struggles.

She’s also interested in Oskar Roehler’s Jud Süss - Film ohne Gewissen, a feature film about the notorious the UFA Nazi propaganda film “Jud Süss” which didn’t have the effect the Nazis had planned.
